What we do

Angela Grojean was diagnosed with breast cancer, specifically Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, on November 13, 2018 and underwent a double mastectomy on December 10, 2018. Post-surgery, Angela had 4 tubes with drains for several weeks during her recovery.  These drains are cumbersome and uncomfortable for mastectomy patients who are already dealing with innumerable problems both physically and emotionally.

Luckily for Angela, she received the gift of a zip up hoodie that contained inside pockets to hold the drains comfortably and securely, with the added bonus of being discreet.

Realizing her good fortune and wanting to “pay it forward,” Angela has set out to gift a zip up hoodie, like the one she received, to anyone going through this type of breast cancer surgery. This hoodie has normal pockets on the outside, but also pockets inside to disguise the tubes and drains and keep them from pulling on the skin. The hoodie has an abundance of pockets, hence, the name “Abundant Pocket Hoodie” was adopted.

The Abundant Pocket Hoodie falls under the nonprofit, Living in Abundance which is a 501(c)3 public charity. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by the law. All donations will help enable us to provide a complimentary hoodie, sewn with inside pockets to accommodate drains, to anyone diagnosed with breast cancer going through a mastectomy. The pockets are sewn by volunteers and the hoodie is stamped with our Courage Logo. The only cost to the recipient is $10 for shipping and handling.
